Thoughts of Spring

I am getting as anxious as anyone for Spring to arrive. . .It won't be long. . .I can see little shoots coming up all around the yard, and already snowdrops are out.

In northern Ohio, our Spring is a little later than everyone else's, and when I see everyone posting their tulips and daffodils and peonies already, I am a little jealous!  But, when I look back on photographs I've taken in the last couple of years, I know that soon, soon, I will be seeing my beloved flowers:

I wish I knew the name of these daffodils.

These were planted by the original owners of the property about 40 years ago.  When we decided to put in an asparagus bed, we dug up all the bulbs and redistributed around the back and front gardens.  There were hundreds of bulbs, and we even gave away buckets of them to friends.

The narcissus also come up with the daffodils:

I am challenging myself to become better at taking garden photography.  These are okay, but I am getting a critical eye for what I've shot in the past. For now, these will satisfy when I look at them. . .

After the rain, the blossoms on everything look so beautiful!  That is the best time to check them out up close. . .

I also look forward to getting out my fairies and angels.  This one is my absolute favorite!  Not anything finely made, but I just LOVE her smile!  And I love placing her in a "nest" of low growing, colorful flowers:

The robins will also be here soon:

Wishing everyone happy, Spring thoughts!

  1. Cynthia,
Your photography is stunning. Then I saw you are a pro! Your white double daffodil is a different variety than the Erlicheer because yours only have one bud per stem that I could see. The Erlicheer have 6-8 buds per stem. You may be able to identify your daffodil varieties by looking at bulb companies on the internet.

Thanks for stopping by and leaving such a nice comment.
