Antique Silver and Flow Blue Dishes

I've always loved old silver, and whenever I can, I like being able to pick up a few pieces at yard sales or antique shops.  Online estate sales and auctions are also a good source, and there are many places other than E-Bay. . .

Whenever possible, I use the silver that I've collected.  It doesn't all match, but that's the beauty of it!  So many lovely patterns, who could choose just one?

I love when I run across pieces that are monogrammed with one of our initials.  The three on the left are monogrammed with a "C" (for Cynthia and Carl, of course).

When I do find silver with Mother of Pearl handles, I bid!  Sometimes I'm lucky, but more often than not, I don't bid high enough.  I love the few pieces I do have!

The above photograph has detail of the silver and mother of pearl.  Now you probably know, that I just love detail work!  The craftsmanship is something we don't run across every day.  The additional silver has an "F" monogram. . .and Carl's last name begins with F. . .in fact, these are from some of the silver inherited from his family.

I used some antique French textiles in the above four photographs.  THAT is ANOTHER love of mine: textiles and fabrics. . .

Another passion of mine is blue and white china.  Not just any blue and white, but flow blue.  I can't seem to pass it up.  I MUST possess it when I find it!

As far as I am concerned, it matters not to me if it matches.  Or if a saucer is missing a tea cup, or visa-versa.  Also, the small cracks or veining are okay.  But, I don't like chips that are obvious.

I know there are many other bloggers who share my love of silver and flow blue china.  Are you one of them?  I'd love to hear from you!

Thank you for your visit today!
