Over the years, I've taken photographs of flowers that I've grown on our property. I am quite proud of the fact that Carl and I do ALL of our own gardening. . .in fact, we spend every evening after work and every weekend tending to one area or another.

This Weigela was planted long ago by a previous owner. Still blossoms every Spring |

These Peonies had one of their best shows last year |

This rose is called "Brilliant Pink Iceberg". Very prolific throughout the Summer months |

"Carding Mill" is a David Austen variety. It has a heavenly scent, and is a very healthy re-bloomer |
In August and September, my Dahlias put on a display. We've been very successful with growing them, and every year I add to the list of tubers that I order. For anyone looking for a good source, check out Swan Island Dahlias. They produce masses of blooms, and the tubers store well from year to year

I cannot remember the name of this one, but it sure is pretty! Dinnerplate sized, and lucious coloring |

This Dahlia is called "Cafe Au Lait", and is another HUGE flower. Last year was my first for this one |
I have tons of flower photographs to share, which I'll post in the coming weeks.
Thank you for visiting, and I do hope you'll stop by again.

Cynthia,
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful!! Makes me long for warmer weather even though I am no lover of the Summer heat!! Thanks so much for all your visits!!
Hugs,
Deb
I like all the pinks from your garden, especially the light hue of the weigela. The roses seem to grow well for you so I can see why you like the new DA introductions for this year. I can't wait to get back in my garden too; likely mid-April here in southern Ontario but with the way the weather has been it could be a week or two earlier.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful garden - I soooo need you to pop down to Columbus (see my first reply is for your tea post earlier) and help me. I hate my garden - just ask Judith (above comment) I complain to her all the time about it...wishing Ontario wasn't so far away.....but since you have the green thumb...haha.
ReplyDeleteI love seeing your pretty outdoor pics as they keep me focused on spring time around the corner - though there is no way I can complain about this mild winter we've had. I do love snow though, but that bad storm that hit missed us completely - did it hit you there? Where on Lake Erie do you live?
Beautiful pictures! My mom always called those type of Dahlias "Spider Dahlias", could of been something she just called them. Your newest follower ~ Mickie.
ReplyDeleteHi Cynthia: I've just finished reading your kind comment to me and have now come over to be your newest follower. Your photographs are beautiful as well as the subjects you photographed. We had a very large Weigela bush in our front yard when I was a girl. It was the same color as yours and so beautiful. I have never forgotten it. I look forward to seeing more of your posts..Happy Sunday..Judy
